Mr. Scott Donahey is an arbitrator and mediator specializing in intellectual property cases and cases related to computer technology, software, the Internet, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and genetics.  He has spoken and written extensively on International Arbitration and Intellectual Property Arbitration.  He was an instructor at the World Intellectual Property Organization (“WIPO) Workshop for Arbitrators for ten years.  

He decided the first case under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (“UDRP”) and has since decided more than 500 domain name cases under the UDRP in addition to ccTLD cases under applicable rules, and new gTLD cases under Community Objections, Legal Rights Objectsions, String Confusion Objections, and the Independent Review Panel, reviewing gTLD decision of the ICANN Board.  He was an instructor at the WIPO Workshop on Domain Name Dispute Resolution and the Advanced Domain Name Workshop for ten years.

He served as chair of the Independent Review Panel in the recent case of Dot Registry v. ICANN, the decision of which was published on the ICANN web site at https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/irp-dot-registry-final-declaration-redacted-29jul16-en.pdf.
